January 15 - National Culture Day and the Day of the Romanian National Poet, Mihai Eminescu

January 15 - the birthdate of Romanian national poet, Mihai Eminescu (1850-1889) is the National Culture Day, celebrated through a series of cultural and artistic events organized in Romania and abroad. 


Doctoral Seminars

On January 21, 28 and February 1, 2018, ASE`s Faculty of Theoretical and Applied Economics organizes a series of seminars for ASE`s Doctoral students, to improve the latter`s skills in scientific research and micro- and macro-economic analysis. The classes are delivered by PhD Prof. Carlos Ramirez Valdebenito, Visiting professor at the Faculty of Theoretical and Applied Economics. Mr. Valdebenito is ASE’s alumnus, professor at University Santiago de Chile and University of Talca (Chile), and advisor for the International Labor Organization. Event venue - the Robert Schuman Room, starting 18.00h. 


International Conference on Economics and Social Sciences - ICESS 2019

By March 3, 2019, papers can be submitted for the second edition of the International Conference on Economics and Social Sciences - ICESS 2019, organized by The Bucharest University of Economic Studies on April 4-5, 2019. Public debate in ASE

On January 22, 2019, starting 10.00 am, ASE`s Aula Magna hosts the public debate on "Reporting and Settlement Mechanisms for Packaging Waste Targets as per Emerging Ordinance 74/2018". The event is organized by ASE`s Faculty of Agrifood and Environment Economics and is attended by members of ASE’s academic community, ministerial staff and representatives of professional associations.


The Bucharest University of Economic Studies present in "Times Higher Education Emerging Economies University Rankings 2019"

In January 2019, the "Times Higher Education Emerging Economies University Rankings 2019" was made public. According to this prestigious ranking, The Bucharest University of Economic Studies is placed 351+ among universities from 43 countries. The ranking reunites all the Romanian universities members of the Universitaria Consortium. Details... 


Opportunities for academic cooperation

On Monday, January 28, 2019, PhD Prof. Marius Profiroiu, Vice-rector for International relations, participated in the round table on the future of academic and scientific cooperation between UK and Romania organized by the Russel Group Universities and the top Romanian universities members of the Universitaria Consortium. 


ASE`s Delegation`s visit to the European Parliament

On January 29-31, 2019, ASE`s Delegation led by PhD Prof. Nicolae Istudor, Rector, pays a working visit to Brussels. The program includes meetings with officials from the European Parliament  on topics related to academic cooperation at European level, perspectives for the Erasmus+ program and the Horizon 2020 program, funding opportunities and talks with members of the Committees on Economic and Monetary Affairs, and on Industry, Research and Energy.

5th Edition of BASIQ 2019 International Conference

The 5th Edition of BASIQ 2019 International Conference on New Trends in Sustainable Business and Consumption, organized by the Association BASIQ, The Faculty of Business and Tourism ASE, University of Bari Aldo Moro and The Amfiteatru Economic Journal will take place in Bari, between 30 May and 1 June 2019, at University of Bari Aldo Moro. First Aid Classes continue in ASE!

On Saturday, February 2, 2019, ASE hosts a new series of Basic First Aid Courses for the members of the academic community. The classes are delivered in Lecture Room 2204, starting 12.00h, by specialists from the SMURD Foundation, as part of the project entitled "Academy of Hope - Volunteering out of Love for Life".

Launch of the Research Center for Productivity Studies in ASE

On February 11, 2019, ASE hosted the Launch of the Research Center for Productivity Studies, a joint project with South Korean partners: Korea Development Institute (KDI) and Korea Productivity Center (KPC). PhD Prof. Nicolae Istudor – Vice-president of the National Coalition for the Modernization of Romania

ASE`s Rector, PhD Prof. Nicolae Istudor, has been appointed Vice-president for academic management with the National Coalition for the Modernization of Romania (CNMR). "I am grateful to Vice-president Istudor for everything he has done for CNMR and for Romania before becoming a member of CNMR`s management team, and I am firmly convinced that starting today the interests of the academic environment and of Romania will be much better represented during CNMR`s negotiations with various national and international institutions" declared Alexandru Cumpanasu, President of CNMR.

Signing of the Partnership Agreement between ASE and the Romanian Tourism Employers` Federation

On February 20, 2019, PhD Prof. Nicolae Istudor, ASE`s Rector, and Dr. Mohammad Murad, President of the Romanian Tourism Employers` Federation (FPTR), signed a Partnership Agreement between the two institutions. The event was attended by ASE`s management team, and Mr. Dragos Raducan, First Executive Vice-president of FPTR. As per the Agreement, the two institutions are to undertake joint research studies, and ASE is to organize scientific events with the support and participation of FPTR specialists in lectures and conferences. ASE participates in the "Gaudeamus Craiova 2019" Book Fair

On February 27 - March 3, 2019, ASE participates in the 18th edition of the "Gaudeamus Craiova 2019" Book Fair. ASE`s Publishing House organizes at its stand book launches and debates, as well as educational events. During this time, at ASE`s stand in the Book Fair and in the national colleges and high schools in Craiova, the University`s representatives provide details on the Educational offer for the 2019 Admission contest.


ASE`s Delegation to Turkmenistan

On February 24-26, 2019, ASE`s Delegation comprising PhD Prof. Nicolae Istudor, Rector, and PhD Prof. Marius Profiroiu, Vice-rector for International Relations, pays a visit to the Turkmen State Institute of Economics and Management in Ashgabat. The visit follows the invitation extended by the Turkmen university, as a result of the cooperation agreement signed in 2018 by the two universities. Discussions are to contribute to the development of the partnership between the two universities, and focus on the opportunities for doctoral training offered by ASE to Turkmen students.

ASE`s Finance and Banking team – winner of the CFA Research Challenge Romania

The team from ASE`s Faculty of Finance and Banking has won the CFA Research Challenge Romania. The team comprises: Andreea Solomon (1st-year Master`s student in Financial Management and Investments), Robert Adrian Grecu and Alexandru Mihai Zarnoeanu (3rd-year Bachelor`s students in Finance and Banking), and Luca Nicolae (2nd-year Master`s student in Financial Management and Investments). ASE`s students were coordinated by PhD Prof. Anamaria Ciobanu and supported by Andreea Mladin (mentor on behalf of CFA, alumna of the Master`s program in Financial Management and Investments). The next step towards the great prize in the CFA competition is Zürich, venue of the EMEA CFA Competition. Congratulations and many more achievements!

Study visit to ASE of students and academics from HELMo - Liege, Belgium

On March 11, 2019, a group of 200 academics and 3rd year Bachelor`s students in Trade from Haute Ecole Libre de Mosane in Liege, Belgium, (HELMo) paid a study visit to The Bucharest University of Economic Studies. The visit is part of a study program aiming to enhance knowledge on business opportunities on the Romanian market and to present Belgian companies interested in doing business in Romania. Interdisciplinary Olympiad for high school pupils organized by ASE

On March 26, 2019, The Bucharest University of Economic Studies and its partners from the pre-university education environment - the "A.D. Xenopol" Economic College and the "Tudor Vianu" National Informatics College in Bucharest - organize the Interdisciplinary Olympiad for high school pupils from national colleges and high schools. The Olympiad consists in two contests on Economic issues such as: Accounting, Economics, Tourism. On March 26, the organizers also provide pupils with the opportunity to prove their hands-on entrepreneurial skills during a Practice Firm Fair.

March 25-29, 2019 - Open Days at ASE
On March 25-29, 2019, The Bucharest University of Economic Studies organizes a series of Open Days events for high school pupils who are interested in becoming students this year. You can visit us on a daily basis between 9.00-15.00h, to interact with teachers and students so as to find out details about the 2019 Bachelor`s Admission procedures and calendar. We also offer guided tours of amphitheaters, reading rooms, sports rooms and other key places in ASE`s Campus.
On March 26, you participate in the first edition of the Interdisciplinary Olympiad for high school pupils, which we organize in partnership with leading institutions from the pre-university environment.
On March 27, you may visit ASE Job & Internship Fair, to meet with representatives from companies that wish to hire students and graduates form ASE.

Annual Students` Conference

On April 11-12, 2019, all of ASE`s faculties organize the Annual Students` Conference. There are 36 panels, out of which 27 panels for Bachelor`s students and 9 panels for Master`s students. There are 760 registered papers, out of which 578 papers submitted by Bachelor`s students and 182 papers submitted by Master`s students. Each panel will be awarded a set of prizes and special mentions. May all participants have a successful event! 


ASE Job & Internship Fair

On Wednesday, April 17, 2019, between 10.00h - 18.00h, we organize the 6th edition of ASE Job & Internship Fair dedicated to ASE`s students and graduates. Venue: the ground, first and second floors of the "Ion N. On May 23-24, 2019, ASE co-organizes and hosts the 5th Plurilingualism European Conference on "Multilingualism in sustainable development: The hidden dimension". Biannual meeting with students

On Wednesday, May 15, 2019, starting 15.00h, ASE`s Aula Magna hosts the biannual meeting of ASE`s management team with students, for consultation on ways to improve the academic and social life of students. 


ASE participates in the Educational Offer Fair

On May 14-17, 2019, ASE participates with an exhibition stand in the 20th edition of the Educational Offer Fair organized by the Bucharest City Hall  through its Center for Educational and Sports Projects - PROEDUS, in partnership with the School Inspectorate of the Municipality of Bucharest (ISMB). The event takes place between 10.00h-18.00h (Monday to Thursday) and between 10.00-14.00h on Friday, in the Tineretului Park, the entrance across the street from the "Gheorghe Sincai" National College. High school pupils attending the Fair have the opportunity to find out details about the educational offer of ASE`s Faculties, admission procedures, student facilities and professional opportunities. 


Graduation ceremony - Postgraduate program in "Strategic Hospitality Management"

On Wednesday, May 22, 2019, starting 15.00h, ASE`s Aula Magna hosts the graduation ceremony of the second series or students in the Postgraduate study program in "Strategic Hospitality Management" jointly organized by ASE and Ecole Hoteliere de Lausanne, the most prestigious tourism and hospitality school in the world. 


Meeting of the National Council of Rectors in Timisoara

On May 17 - 18, 2019, PhD Prof. Dorel Paraschiv, Vice-rector for Liaison with the social and business environment and cooperation with students, participates in the meeting of the National Council of Rectors, hosted by the West University of Timisoara (UVT). Discussion focus on current topics in Romanian higher education. The event takes place on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of UVT.

Round table in ASE

On Tuesday, May 21, 2019, ASE`s Museum, the Faculty of Agrifood and Environmental Economics, and the Department of Philosophy and Social and Human Sciences co-organize the Round table on "Ion Raducanu - 135 years since his birth", as part of the series entitled "Our Professors". ASE hosts the Meeting of European Commission Standing Group

On May 23-24, 2019, ASE hosts the meeting of the European Commission`s Standing Group on Standards and Benchmarks in education and professional training (SGIB). The event is organized by the Ministry of National Education, in cooperation with ASE, under the aegis of Romania`s Presidency of the Council of the European Union. Congratulations to Prof. Mara Gabriela Ploesteanu!

This year, the "Bologna Professor" Award is conferred to PhD Assistant prof. Mara Gabriela Ploesteanu, from ASE`s Faculty of Marketing. The Bologna Professors` Gala is a national initiative meant to recognize and reward the teaching activity of scholars, selected for the student-centered methods in which they succeed in inspiring and arousing students` interest. The "Bologna Professor" Award is even more meaningful as laureates are selected only by students. Congratulations, Prof. Ploesteanu, and many achievements as a teacher! 


ASE participates in the largest international educational fair in Washington, D.C.

On May 26-31, 2019, PhD Prof. Nicolae Istudor, ASE`s Rector, PhD Prof. Marius Profiroiu, Vice-rector for International Relations, and PhD Prof. Nicu Marcu, Director of ASE`s Economics II Doctoral School, members of the Delegation of the National Council of Rectors, participate in the largest international educational fair of the year - NAFSA 2019 Annual Conference & Expo, "Global Leadership, Learning, and Change", held in Washington DC (USA). The event reunites over 10000 participants, where ASE presents its educational offer at the "StudyinRomania" stand, alongside other 23 universities from Romania. 


The 18th edition of the International Conference of Informatics in Economy - IE 2019

13th International Conference on Applied Statistics - ICAS 2019

The 13th International Conference on Applied Statistics - ICAS 2019 will be held on June 7-8 at The Bucharest University of Economic Studies, who jointly organizes the event with The Romanian Society of Statistics and by the Applied Statistics and Econometrics Group. The Conference will be opened by three keynote international speakers and, for the first time, it will have a dedicated youth section (Master’s, PhD and postdoc students, teaching assistants and business employees with up to 5 years of experience) interested in data analysis/data science. The program will also include administrative meetings with the view to organizing a Young Statisticians Group within the Romanian Statistical Society. The Universitaria Consortium reunites in Iasi

On June 20-23, 2019, the Universitaria Consortium reunites at the  "Alexandru Ioan Cuza" University in Iasi. The event is attended by representatives of the managerial boards of the topmost five Romanian universities, members of the Consortium. The agenda comprises current issues in Romanian higher education.

20th Anniversary of the Bologna Declaration
On June 24-25, 2019, ASE`s Delegation comprising PhD Prof. Roxana Sarbu, Vice-rector for Education, and PhD Associate prof. Anca Bogdan, Director of International Relations, participates in the celebration of 20 years since the signing of the Bologna Declaration, attending the Conference entitled "The Bologna Process beyond 2020: the Fundamental Values of the EHEA". Conference topics cover future challenges for universities and their role in the sustainable development of society. 

The event reunites more than 900 participants from 72 countries and is organized by the University of Bologna, in cooperation with the Italian Ministry of Education, Universities and Research, under the aegis of the Observatory of the Magna Charta Universitatum, EUA - European Universities Association and ESU - European Students` Union.
