On Tuesday, October 3, 2017, the Cultural Romania Association and The Bucharest University of Economic Studies organized, in ASE`s Aula Magna, the Homage session entitled "The Soldier Queen", dedicated to the Centenary of The First World War. The event was attended by HRH Prince Radu of Romania, H.E. Paul Brummell, British Ambassador to Romania and H.E. George Calin, UN Cultural Ambassador to Geneva, as well as PhD Prof. Dorel Paraschiv, ASE`s Vice-rector for Liaison with the social and business environment and cooperation with students, other outstanding figures from the academic and diplomatic environment.
The Bucharest University of Economic Studies organizes the Opening ceremonies for the 2017-2018 academic year. The events are managed at Faculty level, with guests from the University`s and Faculties` management teams, academics, students, ambassadors, diplomatic staff, representatives of the business environment and ASE`s partner institutions. The ceremonies include detailed presentations of study programs and student life aimed for first year students.
During the month of July, 2017, the Bucharest University of Economic Studies organized the Admission process for Bachelor`s, Master`s and Doctoral study programs. ASE registered a record number of candidates for its study programs and wishes to thank all those involved in the July Admission process - candidates, registration committees, academic and administrative staff members, volunteering students – for their considerable efforts to successfully carry out such an important activity.
On July 10, 2017, the Aula Magna of The Bucharest University of Economic Studies hosted the Forum entitled "Commercial Diplomacy Week", organized by the Romanian Ministry for Business Environment, Trade and Entrepreneurship (MMACA). During the event opening ceremony, PhD Prof. Nicolae Istudor, ASE`s Rector, delivered a speech within the panel entitled "Attaining excellence through institutional cooperation and curriculum harmonization". The event was attended by Ilan Laufer, Minister of Business Environment, Trade and Entrepreneurship, Teodor Melescanu, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mircea Titus Dobre, Minister of Tourism, members of the business community, economic advisors from MMACA`s representation network, diplomatic representatives of Romania`s trade partners, representatives of central and local authorities.
On July 5, 2017, ASE`s Aula Magna hosted the launch of the strategic partnership between The Bucharest University of Economic Studies and Google. The partnership aims to prepare a training program to develop the digital competences of the academic community with the help of the practitioners from the business environment. The event was attended by PhD Prof. Nicolae Istudor, ASE`s Rector, Liviu Pop, Minister of National Education, Elisabeta Moraru, Country Business Development Manager - Google Romania, Philipp Justus, Vice-President for Central Europe at Google, Victor Negrescu, Minister-Delegate for European Affairs, Catalin Drula, President of the Committee for Information Technology and Communications - Chamber of Deputies, members of the academic community.
On Thursday, June 29, 2017, from 10.00-13.00h, ASE organized an earthquake simulation in its administrative building and the Gym from Cihoschi Street. The activity was organized as part of the Project entitled "Academy of Hope - Volunteering out of Love for Life", undertaken by ASE in partnership with the Romanian General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations - DSU, with a view to training the academic community to correctly react in emergency situations.
During the meetings, discussions focused on: subsequent cooperation in big data and other various research fields, the possibility for facilitating research scholarships for ASE`s Doctoral students as part of the Fulbright Program, ways in which academics of Romanian nationality can suport ASE`s internationalization endeavors.
On June 21, 2017, ASE`s Aula Magna hosted the Festive Gathering of the University`s Senate, which, following the proposal of the Faculty of Marketing, conferred the "Virgil Madgearu Diploma - with a Gold Medal" to PhD Prof. Nicolae Alexandru Pop, for his outstanding national and international professional, scientific and managerial activity as a member of ASE`s tenured academic staff.
On June 20, 2017, following the proposal of the Faculty of Economic Cybernetics, Statistics and Informatics, the Bucharest University of Economic Studies conferred the title of Doctor Honoris Causa to PhD Prof. Constantin Virgil Negoita, member of The International Academy for Systems and Cybernetic Sciences - IASCYS from London. During the Festive Gathering of ASE`s University`s Senate, proponents highlighted the outstanding academic and research merits of PhD Prof. Constantin Virgil Negoita in the field of Systems Theory and Cybernetics, his strive to promote academic values, his professional and personal prestige among the members of the academic community.
