Throughout July 2018, The Bucharest University of Economic Studies successfully organized the Bachelor’s, Master’s and Doctoral study programs. For on-campus Bachelor’s study programs, ASE registered 8782 candidates, over 10% from the total number of Baccalaureate graduates at national level. We wishe to thank all those involved in the July Admission process - candidates, registration committees, academic and administrative staff members, members of the Center for Career Counseling and Guidance, volunteering students – for their joint efforts to efficiently carry out such an important activity.
During June 30 - July 23, 2018, ASE acted as a strategic partner for the “Leadership Summer Academy” 2018 - a training project conducted by the Teach for Romania non-profit organization, with whom ASE concluded a Cooperation Agreement to offer optimal training conditions for future teachers. This project is part of ASE`s corporate social responsibility strategy, with the university being actively involved in the personal and professional development of youth.
On June 28-30, 2018, ASE hosted the 13th edition of the most important student scientific competition in the field of Economics - the National Olympiad of Students in Economics - ONEF 2018. The competition is organized by the Association of Faculties of Economics from Romania (AFER), in partnership with the Ministry of National Education. This year`s host faculties: for the Bachelor`s track - ASE`s Faculty of Agrifood and Environment Economics, and for the Master`s track - ASE`s Faculty of Finance and Banking.
The representatives of the Universitaria Consortium member universities emphasized, during the meeting held on June 22-23, 2018, at the "Babes-Bolyai" University of Cluj-Napoca, the necessity for adopting specific quality measures in higher education, regarding the financing and financial restrictions and obligations of universities, the need for reassessing Doctoral Schools and university ranking criteria, the importance of full depoliticization of the management of the National Council of Rectors-CNR, as well as the necessity to change the voting system at CNR level.
On June 14-21, 2018, ASE`s Delegation comprising PhD Prof. Nicolae Istudor, Rector, and PhD Prof. Marius Profiroiu, Vice-rector for International Relations, is visiting The Universite de Quebec a Montreal (Canada). On Friday, June 15, ASE`s Delegation met with Ms. Magda Fusaro, Rector. On this occasion, discussions focused on the results of the cooperation between ASE and UQUAM as regards the jointly organized Romanian-Canadian MBA program in Bucharest. At the same time, participants decided to enhance this partnership, by diversifying cooperation in Bachelor`s and Master`s programs, and by initiating an Erasmus agreement between the two universities. During June 11-23, the MBA students also perform a study visit to Montreal.
ON June 13-14, 2018, ASE`s Faculty of Accounting and Management Information Systems organized the 13th a edition of the International Conference "Accounting and Management Information Systems" - AMIS 2018.
On Friday, June 8, 2018, following the proposal of the Board of Trustees, the Senate of the Ovidius University of Constanta confered the Title of Doctor Honoris Causa to PhD Prof. Nicolae Istudor. On this occasion, ASE`s Rector delivered a presentation entitled "The Positioning of the Economic School in the Romanian Higher Education System". The ceremony is part of the 15th edition of the International Conference "Present Issues of Global Economy" organized by the Faculty of Economic Sciences in Constanta.
On June 7-8, 2018, ASE co-organized and hosted "The 14th Transatlantic Dialogue: The Disciplines and the Study of Public Administration - Transatlantic perspectives". Event organizers: the European Group for Public Administration (EGPA/IIAS), the American Society for Public Administration (ASPA) and The Bucharest University of Economic Studies (ASE).
On May 31, 2018, ASE`s Aula Magna hosted the second edition of the Financial Forum entitled “Financial Markets in Romania: Efficient Supervision, Development and Financing of the Economy”. Event speakers: Acad. Mugur Isarescu - Governor of the National Bank of Romania, PhD Prof. Dalina Dumitrescu - ASE Vice-rector for Scientific Research, Development and Innovation, Leonardo Badea - President of the Financial Supervision Authority, Constantin Bostina - President of the Economic and Social Studies and Forecasts Association - ASPES. The event was attended by representatives of the Romanian financial and banking system, of the capital market, of the pension and insurance system. Debates focused on using financing for strong economic growth, and sustainable development in investment, education and society.
