Structure of the academic year

The academic year consists of 2 semesters. The first semester starts on October 1 st and ends in February, whereas the second semester starts at the end of February and ends in July. There are four holidays whose dates vary from one year to another: a winter holiday in December, an inter-semestrial holiday, a spring holiday and a summer holiday.

1 st semester: October 1, 2011 - February 11, 2012

Winter holiday: December 24, 2011 - January 8, 2012
Exam session: January 23, 2012 - February 11, 2012
Inter-semestrial holiday: February 13, 2012 - February 19, 2012

2 nd semester: February 20, 2012 – June 26, 2012

Spring holiday: April 14, 2012 – April 22, 2012
Exam session: June 6, 2012 - June 21, 2012
Re-examination session: June 29, 2012 - July 10, 2012
Summer holiday: July 11, 2012 - September 30, 2012

University-observed holidays:

National Day –December 1, 2011
International Labour Day – May 1, 2012
Pentecost – June 4, 2012

Admission calendar

The entrance examination takes places in the second half of July every year for all the three cycles of studies (Bachelor studies, Master studies, Doctoral studies).

Graduation exams

• 1 st cycle - the graduation exam takes place at the beginning of July every year. For the academic year 2011/2012, students take the exam to obtain their Bachelor's degree between July 18-21, 2012.

• 2 nd cycle - the graduation exam (defending a Master's thesis) takes place in June, every year. For the academic year 2011/2012, the exam is scheduled to take place between June 19-23, 2012.
